My approach to weddings is a mixture of documentary coverage mixed with creative portraits. I like to shoot much of the day as it happens, uninterrupted to allow you to enjoy it all to the max - there’s nothing worse than a shouty photographer stopping proceedings every two minutes. I like to capture the action as it happens, freeze framing happy moments, and capturing all of the atmosphere. Memories are so so important, they are the part of the wedding we get to keep forever and that’s why I love helping to record them for you.
Group shots are important - especially to Mums and Grandmas - and they most certainly still have their place. However, I like to keep these to a concise minimum as inevitably these are the photographs which do take up the most time on your day and no one wants to feels they’ve spent their entire wedding day looking at the camera waiting for us to track down missing family members. By being really organised and getting through theses few shots quickly and efficiently it will allow you to get back to your guests and allow me to continue shooting all the fun.
I always ask couples to allow around 30 mins in their day for us to sneak away from the rest of the wedding guests and find a couple of quiet spots to take some relaxed creative shots. My style is very natural and I like to keep structured posing to a minimum, having a bit of ‘you’ time on such a busy day is so important too and if you don’t mind me tagging along (you can pretend I’m not there) I hope that during this short time we will be able to catch some amazing natural shots of the two of you just being you.
