Scottish Borders Wedding
August 15, 2015
I travelled up to Minto near Denholm in the Scottish Borders for Sarah and Theo’s big day. This was a new area for me to explore and I have to admit that on a beautiful sunny August morning, it was a pretty idillic drive through the countryside!
These guys booked me fairly late in the planning process and don’t live in the area so although I managed to arrange a meet up with Sarah at the studio the week before to chat through details, Theo unfortunately couldn’t make it and so when I arrived at the venue I started the day with a little game of ‘guess who’s the groom’ which is fun! - Actually it’s not, it can be quite embarrassing if you get it wrong, thankfully a rare occurrence! Ha ha
Their venue was The School House in Minto. All I can say about this venue is WOW! For a couple who wanted something unusual, in fact, completely unique, it doesn’t come much better than this. Rob and Sarah who run the School House have worked extremely hard and done an amazing job with the quirky decor and antiques to create something truly special. This was perfect for Sarah and Theo’s relaxed wedding and its safe to say their guests and their photographer LOVED it too!
Between the ceremony and marquee reception, horse mad Sarah was treated to a little surprise… a beautiful carriage arrived with a handsome white horse to whisk the happy couple off for a ride through the county lanes. I can’t get enough of the reaction shots as she spots the horse coming down the road!
